We moved to New York
I have a big announcement: My family and I have officially moved across the country and now live in Upstate New York.
As with everyone, 2020 has been the craziest of years. I never thought that we would leave Los Angeles. And up until about five weeks before the move - this was NOT in our plans.
I miss Los Angeles dearly. We lived there for ten years. We had both of our children there and created so many unforgettable memories. I was back for a commercial shoot a few weeks ago, and it felt so good to visit a few of my favorite shops while there.
One of the best things that happened during my time in Los Angeles - apart from my family - was finding the coffee community and starting Americano Mondays.
That decision to fuse my love for photography + storytelling and coffee culture is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I cannot underscore how much fulfillment the coffee community has brought to my life, both personally and creatively.
So, what does the future hold for Americano Mondays? I have a few remaining feature photo and film essays that I will be releasing over the rest of 2020. I FINALLY have time to work on my coffee table book. And since we're here with the kids full time now, I hope to shoot some fun, at home, "Coffee Adventures with Dad" content. I am hopeful for the future of Americano Mondays.
As well, I am excited that my coffee station has its own spot in our new place. So this has essentially become our in-home coffee shop. Expect to see more images/video of me testing my home barista skillZZZ! It's time to step up my coffee game.
And when the time is right, I cannot wait to explore the east coast coffee scene. That is something that I have long wanted to do. Sadly - now that I am here, it's not yet possible. But as soon as it is - I am so ready to visit every freakin shop around. (and would love some good recommendations) Thanks, Jeff.
