Copa Vida
I came across Copa Vida through a post on Instagram. By the look of it, I knew I had to check it out. They had just opened up in August in Old Town Pasadena so I made my way over.
On my first visit there I met Sam Hong, the manager of customer experience. A very nice guy that definitely knows whats up. We ended up talking for about 15 minutes as he walked me through their thought process for the shop as well as had me sample some their their different teas and coffees. It was such a welcoming experience that I knew I wanted to have them featured here. Especially since one of their core principles is ‘Community‘ – One of the 2 core themes that I am finding as I continue and expand this series in new areas. More on that at a later time… They also have a full service kitchen run by Chef Erick Lee. A chef with a heart for the homeless and someone who consciously left some big name gigs to come to Copa Vida.
The espresso machine they’re rockin’ is freakin’ beautiful. Its’ a Kees Van Der Westen – Spirit and it’s the only currently in Los Angeles. It also doesn’t hurt that their logo is lit up on the front of it. Nice touch.
I highly recommend checking this joint out.
